Back in June, before I had foot surgery, I pedaled out of Silverton and connected into the Sage and Saddles bikepacking loop around Gunnison. Saw some beautiful, quiet spots and also got dusted out by all the traffic around Taylor Park which wasn’t awesome, but at least I was outside spending long days going from point A to point B. Made me miss thru-hiking a ton. Biking just isn’t the same as being in the wilderness but it is a good alternative when my body can’t hike or run. Here are some pics. It also made me realize that I need a new bike, which I may or may not have ordered right after I got surgery. I can’t wait for it but it won’t be ready til December!
